About the Role

At CheckPayee, we’re building the infrastructure of trust for European payments. Our real-time API verifies payees before payments are processed — protecting users and reducing APP fraud. As our Sales Director for the DACH region, you’ll lead our expansion into Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, building relationships with key decision-makers at banks, payment service providers, and fintech companies.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Own the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Develop long-term partnerships with key accounts in the DACH region
  • Market Development: Identify new opportunities and expand our presence in German-speaking markets
  • Solution Selling: Understand customer pain points and position our VoP solutions effectively
  • Collaborate Cross-functionally: Work with product, engineering, and customer success teams

Target Market

  • Banks: Regional and national banks implementing VoP compliance
  • Payment Service Providers: PSPs needing fraud prevention solutions
  • Fintech Companies: Digital payment platforms requiring verification services
  • Corporate Clients: Large enterprises seeking payment security solutions

Requirements

Must Have

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in fintech, banking, or payment technology
  • Native German speaker with excellent English communication skills
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets (€1M+ annually)
  • Experience selling to financial institutions and understanding their decision-making processes
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems, banking regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Existing network and relationships in the DACH financial services sector

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SEPA payment systems and European banking regulations
  • Knowledge of fraud prevention and risk management solutions
  • Previous experience with API-based or SaaS sales
  • Understanding of PSD2, PSD3, and instant payment regulations
  • MBA or relevant business degree
  • Multilingual capabilities (French, Italian, Dutch)

  • Competitive base salary: €80,000 - €120,000
