Senior Frontend Developer – React & TypeScript

About the Role

At CheckPayee, we’re building the infrastructure of trust for European payments. Our real-time API verifies payees before payments are processed — protecting users and reducing APP fraud. As a Senior Frontend Developer, you’ll work on creating intuitive, secure interfaces that make our fraud prevention technology accessible to banks, PSPs, and fintechs across Europe.

What You’ll Do

• Build Modern Web Applications: Develop responsive, accessible React applications with TypeScript for payment verification
• Collaborate with Design: Implement pixel-perfect UI components that match our design system
• Optimize Performance: Ensure fast loading times and smooth interactions for real-time financial applications
• Maintain Code Quality: Write clean, testable code with comprehensive documentation
• Mentor Team Members: Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams on feature development

Technical Stack

• Frontend: React 18+, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Vite
• State Management: Zustand, React Query for server state
• Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright for E2E
• Tools: ESLint, Prettier, Git, Husky for git hooks
• Deployment: Vercel with automated CI/CD pipelines

Requirements

Must Have

• 5+ years of professional React development experience
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with responsive design and CSS-in-JS solutions
• Knowledge of React ecosystem (hooks, context, suspense)
• Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development
• Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js or SvelteKit
• Knowledge of payment systems or fintech applications
• Experience with design systems and component libraries
• Background in performance optimization and Core Web Vitals
• Familiarity with backend technologies (Node.js, APIs)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Sentry, LogRocket)
